Aspect 360 can supply timber windows and doors complete with a fire retardant treatment, Cyndan Firetard 120.

FIRETARD 120 is a single component, translucent water based liquid which can be applied to all types of internal and external timber surfaces. When dry the product is impervious to water, it will not discolour the timber and has excellent resistance to dirt pick-up.

FIRETARD 120 Fire Retardant Liquid was developed due to a new performance-based building code, which was introduced into Australia to encourage innovation in building design and construction. As from 1st July 2003, the fire performance of floor, wall and ceiling linings regulated within the Building Code of Australia (BCA) has been changed by the introduction of test procedures AS/NZS 3837 ‘Method Test of Heat and Smoke Release Rates for Materials and Products using an Oxygen Consumption Calorimeter’ and ISO 9237.1 ‘Reaction to Fire Tests for Floor Coverings’.

Radiata pine samples treated with FIRETARD 120 have been assessed by the CSIRO as meeting the new Australian and New Zealand standard AS/NZS 3837 as a fire retardant treated timber as specified by clause 1.5.6 of AS 3959, Construction of Buildings in Bushfire Prone Areas, 1999.
